The creation of Boulevard du Souverain changed the formerly rural appearance of Auderghem, a village backed by the Sonian Forest. Along this urban artery, the Woluwe flows quietly, feeds ponds and marks out new landscapes. Taking the small Chemin des Venelles, the walk follows the stream past fine houses and apartment buildings. The Seny Park and Ten Reuken Park, created in the 19th century, were rethought in the 1960s by landscape architects to restore their bucolic setting, with varied fauna and flora, a waterfall, a wooden bridge, rockeries and several artworks. They offer popular walks and form part of the Brussels Region’s blue and green network. With the guide, visitors see how the river and its ecosystem coexist with the municipality’s urbanisation. The route ends at Mix, an architectural landmark in the urban landscape.
